About the Farm

We may be a young sanctuary, but our mission is just as strong as the resilient animals we rehabilitate. Take a look around to learn more!

What We Do

Patched Hearts Farm Sanctuary is dedicated to providing a safe sanctuary for farm animals in need, in which they can live their lives free from exploitation in the care of knowledgeable caregivers.

Who We Are

Welcome to Patched Hearts Farm Sanctuary! My name is Courtney Watson and my family and I live on a 37-acre farm in Michigan. I started my journey into the animal world 18 years ago when I took a job as an animal caretaker at a wonderful small animal clinic in Dewitt, Michigan. It was at this clinic that I quickly realized caring for animals is my passion. I kept working and eventually graduated from Michigan State University with my bachelor’s degree in veterinary technology. Along the way, I happened across various cats and dogs in need of a soft place to land and was happy to provide the love and care they needed. Once you’re in the animal world it quickly becomes obvious that rescue orgs are working tirelessly to find placement and are filled to the brim with animals in need of homes. I saw an opportunity to use my skills to offer relief for local rescues. My goal as a sanctuary is to take in the animals most in need of care. I want to take the animals that don’t often find homes due to extra medical needs or requirements. This will provide relief for rescue workers while providing these animals with the care and space they need to thrive.
